Narrative:
At FL370 approximately 95 NM northwest rome VOR we encountered brief moderate to severe turbulence for 5 seconds. All 9 flight attendants and approximately 10 passenger were injured. We broke out in the clear almost immediately and the flight was uneventful afterwards. The radar was in use and no significant returns were noted on the radar in 80 and 180 scope. Paramedics and ambulances met the flight. No turbulence was reported by ATC or other aircraft.

Title: UNEXPECTED TURB AT FL370 IN OVCST WAS SO SEVERE THAT ALL 9 CABIN ATTENDANTS WERE INJURED AND 10 PAX.
Narrative: AT FL370 APPROX 95 NM NW ROME VOR WE ENCOUNTERED BRIEF MODERATE TO SEVERE TURB FOR 5 SECONDS. ALL 9 FLT ATTENDANTS AND APPROX 10 PAX WERE INJURED. WE BROKE OUT IN THE CLR ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND THE FLT WAS UNEVENTFUL AFTERWARDS. THE RADAR WAS IN USE AND NO SIGNIFICANT RETURNS WERE NOTED ON THE RADAR IN 80 AND 180 SCOPE.
