Narrative:
Assigned the porte 8 departure (track sfo 350 degree radial to 4 DME, then turn left) from sfo. I missed the 4 DME turn point due to preoccupation with a spc below and to our right landing NAS alameda. The captain (flying) missed it too. At about 6 DME we realized this and began our left turn. Concurrently bay departure queried us and advised to maintain visual separation from an medium large transport off oak, paralleling us below and about 2 mi to the right. Preoccupation with the visual environment caused us to neglect the IFR procedure.
