Narrative:
Clearance was obtained through the ACARS printer (on board aircraft) and both the captain and I misread cre for cae -- both of which are on the fayetteville 1 departure. After leaving the fayetteville (fay) fix we both tuned for cae instead of cre. We caught the mistake at the same time as the controller. However, we were a few mi off course by then (3-4).

Narrative: CLRNC WAS OBTAINED THROUGH THE ACARS PRINTER (ON BOARD ACFT) AND BOTH THE CAPT AND I MISREAD CRE FOR CAE -- BOTH OF WHICH ARE ON THE FAYETTEVILLE 1 DEP. AFTER LEAVING THE FAYETTEVILLE (FAY) FIX WE BOTH TUNED FOR CAE INSTEAD OF CRE. WE CAUGHT THE MISTAKE AT THE SAME TIME AS THE CTLR. HOWEVER, WE WERE A FEW MI OFF COURSE BY THEN (3-4).
