Narrative:
Small transport X reported on ZID frequency just leveling off for cruise. After only a few mins the pilot reported a blown piston left engine declaring 'emergency.' ZID acknowledged transmission authorized turns and descent at pilot's discretion. Informed pilot of several nearby airports. Pilot elected to return to greater cincinnati. Pilot started a slow descent and a right hand turn. Was turned over to cvg approach and land cvg airport.
