Narrative:

At completion of flight the secure cockpit checklist was read and the crew, with the exception of captain, departed the aircraft for crew rest. Captain remained with the aircraft to ride as an acm (additional crew member) to copenhagen. Upon captain's return he relayed the following scenario. An aircraft service person (contract) entered the cockpit to clean the windscreen. After accomplishing this task he noticed the radar switch in the on position. Not understanding the low power output/stray wave of the widebody transport radar, he became very alarmed and irritated. His attention was directed primarily at the captain. Captain pointed out that in addition to the flight crew completing the after landing and secure cockpit checklist, there were several people in the cockpit after the crew had departed. This did not satisfy the maintenance person who claimed he was initiating a report of this incident.

Title: GND CREW DISCOVERED THE ACFT'S RADAR HAD BEEN LEFT ON AND CHIDED THE CAPT ABOUT IT.

Narrative: AT COMPLETION OF FLT THE SECURE COCKPIT CHKLIST WAS READ AND THE CREW, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CAPT, DEPARTED THE ACFT FOR CREW REST. CAPT REMAINED WITH THE ACFT TO RIDE AS AN ACM (ADDITIONAL CREW MEMBER) TO COPENHAGEN. UPON CAPT'S RETURN HE RELAYED THE FOLLOWING SCENARIO. AN ACFT SVC PERSON (CONTRACT) ENTERED THE COCKPIT TO CLEAN THE WINDSCREEN. AFTER ACCOMPLISHING THIS TASK HE NOTICED THE RADAR SWITCH IN THE ON POS. NOT UNDERSTANDING THE LOW PWR OUTPUT/STRAY WAVE OF THE WDB RADAR, HE BECAME VERY ALARMED AND IRRITATED. HIS ATTN WAS DIRECTED PRIMARILY AT THE CAPT. CAPT POINTED OUT THAT IN ADDITION TO THE FLC COMPLETING THE AFTER LNDG AND SECURE COCKPIT CHKLIST, THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE IN THE COCKPIT AFTER THE CREW HAD DEPARTED. THIS DID NOT SATISFY THE MAINT PERSON WHO CLAIMED HE WAS INITIATING A RPT OF THIS INCIDENT.
