Narrative:
Arriving from scl (santiago, chile) via ua 307, scb VOR to bco VOR for ILS landing runway 27L at gru airport (sao paulo, brazil) we received several vectors due traffic. Also we were given descent from FL80 to 6000 ft. Last vector was a northeast heading taking us into MSA FL65. Approximately 300 degree/10 mi from bco VOR experienced a terrain callout on ground proximity warning system (GPWS), executed a pull up to approximately 7000 ft and advised ATC controller (communication was continuous with portuguese due traffic), WX hazy, finally able to communication with controller to advise of our situation and was given final vectors and clearance to land runway 27L with no further incident. I requested operations to meet aircraft at gate. Upon arrival, briefed operations and requested he brief and advise controller. I have enclosed high/low area chart 21-3 to show approximately routing.
