Narrative:
Was flying aircraft between mesquite, tx, hqz and gainesville, tx, and ran out of gas! Took off with between 1/4 and 1/2 tank of gas. From previous experience in small aircraft this was more than enough for the 35 min flight. When engine quit, gauges showed between 1/4 and empty. Forced landing made in wheat field with no damage to airplane or property. Added gas and flew out of field. To my knowledge no one except the local airport people know it happened!
