Narrative:
Departed scottsdale airport for training flight on victor 327 northbound to flagstaff, az. Instead of intercepting V327 which is on the srr 352 degree radial the flight was considerably to the east of V372 -- about on the 010 degree radial. The base of the TCA in this area is 8000 ft when I realized actual position, altitude was 8900 ft. Cause of problem was forgotten sectional chart and not sure of airway radial. (Realized wrong position by visual reference from past experience and familiarity with area.) selected wrong radial. Could have been prevented by better preflight planning.

Title: PLT OF SMA TWIN ENTERED PHX TCA.
Narrative: DEPARTED SCOTTSDALE ARPT FOR TRAINING FLT ON VICTOR 327 NBOUND TO FLAGSTAFF, AZ. INSTEAD OF INTERCEPTING V327 WHICH IS ON THE SRR 352 DEG RADIAL THE FLT WAS CONSIDERABLY TO THE E OF V372 -- ABOUT ON THE 010 DEG RADIAL. THE BASE OF THE TCA IN THIS AREA IS 8000 FT WHEN I REALIZED ACTUAL POS, ALT WAS 8900 FT. CAUSE OF PROBLEM WAS FORGOTTEN SECTIONAL CHART AND NOT SURE OF AIRWAY RADIAL. (REALIZED WRONG POS BY VISUAL REF FROM PAST EXPERIENCE AND FAMILIARITY WITH AREA.) SELECTED WRONG RADIAL. COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY BETTER PREFLT PLANNING.
