Narrative:
Licensed PF approach flared high. I was concerned that it would be a problem for this medium time pilot (about 600 hours) in a tail wheel aircraft as pilot had only a few dozen lndgs and hours in type. I said, 'I've got it' and landed. The plane swerved and I was unable to prevent the consequent ground loop. No personal injuries resulted, but the plane sustained moderate damage in the incident. Poor judgement was the cause of this incident, as a go around would have been the appropriate action. Overconfidence in my own ability after a period of non flying was another error in judgement.
