Narrative:
After we landed we were taxiing into our gate when a passenger observed the APU 'torch off' during start. He or she assumed the aircraft was on fire and started their own evacuate/evacuation by opening the window exits and climbing out onto the wing while we were still taxiing! We stopped the aircraft and shut down engines at once and called crash fire rescue. All passengers should be given drug/alcohol and iq tests prior to boarding!
