Narrative:
We encountered a loss of hydraulic fluid and pressure en route to honolulu. The checklist was carried out for loss of hydraulic fluid or pressure and we proceeded with the same checklist for approach and landing. Everything went according to the book with no problems whatsoever. We were astonished upon arrival at the gate in honolulu to find company management the FAA and news rptrs. We were told that the company had been informed we had a total hydraulic failure. The situation was blown completely out of proportion, needlessly.
