Narrative:
ASR 9. 2 fgt's departed hill air force base with transponder off. No radar until the aircraft turned transponder on. Radar idented on hif 170/3.88. This is common. Unless an aircraft has his transponder turned on, we will not receive a target on the radar, only from hill air force base.

Narrative: ASR 9. 2 FGT'S DEPARTED HILL AIR FORCE BASE WITH TRANSPONDER OFF. NO RADAR UNTIL THE ACFT TURNED TRANSPONDER ON. RADAR IDENTED ON HIF 170/3.88. THIS IS COMMON. UNLESS AN ACFT HAS HIS TRANSPONDER TURNED ON, WE WILL NOT RECEIVE A TARGET ON THE RADAR, ONLY FROM HILL AIR FORCE BASE.
