Narrative:
Flight from pittsburg to jfk. We were given a crossing restriction. 'Cross 20 DME west of allentown at 9000.' this crossing restriction was missed by approximately 3 DME. We subsequently were given a heading change of 20 degrees to avoid traffic. The controller questioned us and explained why we were given the crossing restriction 'for traffic.' though it was not a near miss, we did require the vector. This could have been avoided by better crew coordination (lack of communication in cockpit) and by better pilot planning, also turbulence was an additional factor. Another problem existed in the cockpit at the time. Stressful work conditions due to the sale of company and the uncertainty of our job security. This was the last day and both pilots were extremely preoccupied with the thought of the possibility of unemployment within a 24 hour period. Increase awareness in cockpit. Avoid letting personal/business problems distract you. Better judgement.

Title: COMMUTER FLC MISSED XING RESTRICTION AT ABE, VECTORED BY ZNY CTLR FOR TFC SEPARATION.
Narrative: FLT FROM PITTSBURG TO JFK. WE WERE GIVEN A XING RESTRICTION. 'CROSS 20 DME W OF ALLENTOWN AT 9000.' THIS XING RESTRICTION WAS MISSED BY APPROX 3 DME. WE SUBSEQUENTLY WERE GIVEN A HDG CHANGE OF 20 DEGS TO AVOID TFC. THE CTLR QUESTIONED US AND EXPLAINED WHY WE WERE GIVEN THE XING RESTRICTION 'FOR TFC.' THOUGH IT WAS NOT A NEAR MISS, WE DID REQUIRE THE VECTOR. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY BETTER CREW COORD (LACK OF COM IN COCKPIT) AND BY BETTER PLT PLANNING, ALSO TURB WAS AN ADDITIONAL FACTOR. ANOTHER PROBLEM EXISTED IN THE COCKPIT AT THE TIME. STRESSFUL WORK CONDITIONS DUE TO THE SALE OF COMPANY AND THE UNCERTAINTY OF OUR JOB SECURITY. THIS WAS THE LAST DAY AND BOTH PLTS WERE EXTREMELY PREOCCUPIED WITH THE THOUGHT OF THE POSSIBILITY OF UNEMPLOYMENT WITHIN A 24 HR PERIOD. INCREASE AWARENESS IN COCKPIT. AVOID LETTING PERSONAL/BUSINESS PROBLEMS DISTRACT YOU. BETTER JUDGEMENT.
