Narrative:
Lost radio contact in cruise with ATC. Received message via ACARS, assuming lost contact due to being out of range. On approach to runway 31 never heard instructions to contact tower. Called approach with no response. Also no contact with tower. At approximately 700-800 ft with clear runway, decided to land rather than go around due to possible conflict with runway 35 traffic. After landing, contacted tower on #2 VHF. Wrote up (intermittent?) inoperative #1 VHF radio.
