Narrative:
At cruise at FL230, TCASII TA sounded. The intruder showed 1500 ft below us and climbing toward us at our 12 O'clock position. The advisory immediately changed to an RA and the TCASII commanded an immediate climb of approximately 1500 FPM. A climb was initiated immediately in compliance with the TCASII. At approximately 23900 ft the traffic indicated (on TCASII) it was 600 ft below us and just of the right side still climbing. I leveled the aircraft at FL240 and noted that the clear of TA was never given by TCASII. I informed ATC (ZTL 124.42) of our altitude change and of the traffic and asked if he concurred with the traffic. He said he did not see the traffic until it was behind us and said he would get back to us. He then switched us to ZJX without further explanation.

Title: LTSS BTWN ACR MLG IN CRUISE AND UNKNOWN CLBING OPPOSITE DIRECTION. TCASII SIGNALED RA CLB.
Narrative: AT CRUISE AT FL230, TCASII TA SOUNDED. THE INTRUDER SHOWED 1500 FT BELOW US AND CLBING TOWARD US AT OUR 12 O'CLOCK POS. THE ADVISORY IMMEDIATELY CHANGED TO AN RA AND THE TCASII COMMANDED AN IMMEDIATE CLB OF APPROX 1500 FPM. A CLB WAS INITIATED IMMEDIATELY IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE TCASII. AT APPROX 23900 FT THE TFC INDICATED (ON TCASII) IT WAS 600 FT BELOW US AND JUST OF THE R SIDE STILL CLBING. I LEVELED THE ACFT AT FL240 AND NOTED THAT THE CLR OF TA WAS NEVER GIVEN BY TCASII. I INFORMED ATC (ZTL 124.42) OF OUR ALT CHANGE AND OF THE TFC AND ASKED IF HE CONCURRED WITH THE TFC. HE SAID HE DID NOT SEE THE TFC UNTIL IT WAS BEHIND US AND SAID HE WOULD GET BACK TO US. HE THEN SWITCHED US TO ZJX WITHOUT FURTHER EXPLANATION.
