Narrative:
I was doing touch and goes (for practice). On my 4TH go around, my airspeed indicator was showing 82 KTS. I usually pull the plane off the ground (up) at 78 KTS. I thought I was airborne and pulled the gear up switch. The nose of the plane sank a bit, and I began hearing the tips of the propeller hit the ground. I immediately turned all switches off and turned off the fuel valve. I believe the reason for my error was: 1) rather than go to a flight school, I purchased a plane (15 yrs ago) and hired private instructors to teach me how to fly. 2) none of them told me to look at the rate of climb indicator, to know I established a positive rate of climb, for a couple of mins, before raising the gear. All (as I remembered) kept saying -- push throttle, propeller, mixture forward and go. Pick up flaps.

Title: ACFT DAMAGED DURING PREMATURE GEAR RETRACTION ON TKOF. PROP STRIKE.
Narrative: I WAS DOING TOUCH AND GOES (FOR PRACTICE). ON MY 4TH GAR, MY AIRSPEED INDICATOR WAS SHOWING 82 KTS. I USUALLY PULL THE PLANE OFF THE GND (UP) AT 78 KTS. I THOUGHT I WAS AIRBORNE AND PULLED THE GEAR UP SWITCH. THE NOSE OF THE PLANE SANK A BIT, AND I BEGAN HEARING THE TIPS OF THE PROP HIT THE GND. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED ALL SWITCHES OFF AND TURNED OFF THE FUEL VALVE. I BELIEVE THE REASON FOR MY ERROR WAS: 1) RATHER THAN GO TO A FLT SCHOOL, I PURCHASED A PLANE (15 YRS AGO) AND HIRED PRIVATE INSTRUCTORS TO TEACH ME HOW TO FLY. 2) NONE OF THEM TOLD ME TO LOOK AT THE RATE OF CLB INDICATOR, TO KNOW I ESTABLISHED A POSITIVE RATE OF CLB, FOR A COUPLE OF MINS, BEFORE RAISING THE GEAR. ALL (AS I REMEMBERED) KEPT SAYING -- PUSH THROTTLE, PROP, MIXTURE FORWARD AND GO. PICK UP FLAPS.
