Narrative:
Aircraft sustained damage to horizontal stabilizer at place and point in time yet to be determined. The damage was discovered after our arrival in cvg. We had departed jfk (where the damage was suspected as happening) and flew an uneventful trip with no indications of flight control surface damage. Prior to our flight, the so completed his exterior walkaround at approximately XX20 pm. He indicated no awareness of any damage to the aircraft. The first officer and myself arrived at the aircraft about XX45 pm. The remainder of the preflight and trip went routine, with no indication of damage to the aircraft. A second company aircraft was parked parallel to ours and was pushed back for departure some time between XX00 pm and XX45 pm. It also was discovered to have damage on the empennage. It seems likely that a collision between both aircraft occurred during pushback of the first aircraft. This would have been after the so's preflight and prior to the first officer's and my arrival at the aircraft.

Title: TAIL DAMAGE TO 2 COMPANY ACFT DURING PUSHBACK AT JFK.
Narrative: ACFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO HORIZ STABILIZER AT PLACE AND POINT IN TIME YET TO BE DETERMINED. THE DAMAGE WAS DISCOVERED AFTER OUR ARR IN CVG. WE HAD DEPARTED JFK (WHERE THE DAMAGE WAS SUSPECTED AS HAPPENING) AND FLEW AN UNEVENTFUL TRIP WITH NO INDICATIONS OF FLT CTL SURFACE DAMAGE. PRIOR TO OUR FLT, THE SO COMPLETED HIS EXTERIOR WALKAROUND AT APPROX XX20 PM. HE INDICATED NO AWARENESS OF ANY DAMAGE TO THE ACFT. THE FO AND MYSELF ARRIVED AT THE ACFT ABOUT XX45 PM. THE REMAINDER OF THE PREFLT AND TRIP WENT ROUTINE, WITH NO INDICATION OF DAMAGE TO THE ACFT. A SECOND COMPANY ACFT WAS PARKED PARALLEL TO OURS AND WAS PUSHED BACK FOR DEP SOME TIME BTWN XX00 PM AND XX45 PM. IT ALSO WAS DISCOVERED TO HAVE DAMAGE ON THE EMPENNAGE. IT SEEMS LIKELY THAT A COLLISION BTWN BOTH ACFT OCCURRED DURING PUSHBACK OF THE FIRST ACFT. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN AFTER THE SO'S PREFLT AND PRIOR TO THE FO'S AND MY ARR AT THE ACFT.
