Narrative:
I took off from bloomington, in. I flew a heading of 236 degrees which would take me back to harrisburg, il. I believe I checked my heading indicator twice before departing with my magnetic compass. I thought they were both the same, but evidently I was in error. After I realized this, I had flown for about 1 hour. That's when I approached the city of louisville. I was probably around 15 mi from their airport. That's when I knew I was in an arsa without a transponder. I proceeded as quickly as possible to exit their airspace. After leaving their airspace and in the process of trying to find out where I was, I flew through R3704. After I got my heading indicator and magnetic compass to coincide properly, I turned to a 270 degree heading. Realizing that I only had about 45 mins of daylight remaining, I started to look for an airfield. I landed at elizabethtown, ky (addington field) ekx. At this time I called louisville FSS and cancelled my flight plan. I then called my home FBO to take appropriate action.
