Narrative:
Visual approach to tys knoxville, tn. Aircraft gear select down at 150 KIAS (maximum 152). 'Crack was heard from under pilot seat. The 'crack' came from landing gear mechanism. Was the gear down? Gear down indication: green light for main wheels, mechanical needle on the floor (between pilot and copilot's rudder pedals), mirror on left engine cowling to visually check nose gear. All the gear down indications showed 'down'. Company pilot was holding short at 5R in tys. He had all 3 wheels insights. I was suspicious that something was wrong with the landing gear. I made a soft landing. Normal soft landing made on main wheel. They were locked! (Down). Lowered the nose of the airplane. Propellers touched the ground. Nose up. Mixture shut off. Second time the propellers touched the ground, the engine had 200-3-- RPM. Airplane skidded down the runway. Damage on airplane: push rod on nose gear damaged. 2 propellers. Scratches under the nose. Reason to the incident: nose gear rod cracked when landing gear lowered.
