Narrative:

During initial climb out from a runway 27 takeoff at san diego, we received a 'TA' from our TCASII. We noted that the indicator showed traffic at 1500 ft MSL to our left (around 10 O'clock). The first officer (flying) pushed over. We were just out of 800 ft with a climb rate of 2700 FPM. We never say the aircraft. I asked the controller if he had the aircraft on his scope and he replied yes 'he is just behind you. You crossed under at 500 ft.' the TCASII did show the traffic correctly and the system did give a RA at 1000 ft AGL to 'decrease climb' and did declare 'clear of traffic' properly. The controller, however, never warned us and seemed unconcerned about a situation that in a non-TCASII aircraft would have, at best, been very close.

Title: ACR COMES IN CLOSE PROX WITH UNKNOWN VFR TFC IN AREA JUST AFTER TKOF. TCASII RA RECEIVED.

Narrative: DURING INITIAL CLB OUT FROM A RWY 27 TKOF AT SAN DIEGO, WE RECEIVED A 'TA' FROM OUR TCASII. WE NOTED THAT THE INDICATOR SHOWED TFC AT 1500 FT MSL TO OUR L (AROUND 10 O'CLOCK). THE FO (FLYING) PUSHED OVER. WE WERE JUST OUT OF 800 FT WITH A CLB RATE OF 2700 FPM. WE NEVER SAY THE ACFT. I ASKED THE CTLR IF HE HAD THE ACFT ON HIS SCOPE AND HE REPLIED YES 'HE IS JUST BEHIND YOU. YOU CROSSED UNDER AT 500 FT.' THE TCASII DID SHOW THE TFC CORRECTLY AND THE SYS DID GIVE A RA AT 1000 FT AGL TO 'DECREASE CLB' AND DID DECLARE 'CLR OF TFC' PROPERLY. THE CTLR, HOWEVER, NEVER WARNED US AND SEEMED UNCONCERNED ABOUT A SITUATION THAT IN A NON-TCASII ACFT WOULD HAVE, AT BEST, BEEN VERY CLOSE.
