Narrative:
Called for WX xa:30 am, for a flight from dkb to midway, il. Forecast was for VFR up to xe:00 am then possible IFR after xe:00 am local. About xd: 00 am on the return from midway to dkb, 6-7 mi southwest on dupage airport WX went to 800- 900 ft broken. Visibility about 1 mi. I turned 180 degrees to the right, dialed dupage ATIS at the time calling VFR, called tower, controller said airport went IFR, then I asked for special VFR. At that time I was about 5 mi away. I was instructed to hold outside control zone for 10 min but I had already entered control zone. I was told I entered the control zone and was instructed to hold northwest of airport. After 10 mins I was told it would be 10-15 mins more because of IFR traffic inbound. So we climbed out of it. Called flight service. Found nearest VFR, called dupage told them I was leaving the area. The situation occurred because I did not allow enough time to stay out of a control zone. Suggestions to prevent a recurrence is to have a faster method of ATIS update.

Title: UNAUTH PENETRATION OF AIRSPACE WHEN SMA IN PROX OF CTL ZONE.
Narrative: CALLED FOR WX XA:30 AM, FOR A FLT FROM DKB TO MIDWAY, IL. FORECAST WAS FOR VFR UP TO XE:00 AM THEN POSSIBLE IFR AFTER XE:00 AM LCL. ABOUT XD: 00 AM ON THE RETURN FROM MIDWAY TO DKB, 6-7 MI SW ON DUPAGE ARPT WX WENT TO 800- 900 FT BROKEN. VISIBILITY ABOUT 1 MI. I TURNED 180 DEGS TO THE R, DIALED DUPAGE ATIS AT THE TIME CALLING VFR, CALLED TWR, CTLR SAID ARPT WENT IFR, THEN I ASKED FOR SPECIAL VFR. AT THAT TIME I WAS ABOUT 5 MI AWAY. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO HOLD OUTSIDE CTL ZONE FOR 10 MIN BUT I HAD ALREADY ENTERED CTL ZONE. I WAS TOLD I ENTERED THE CTL ZONE AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO HOLD NW OF ARPT. AFTER 10 MINS I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE 10-15 MINS MORE BECAUSE OF IFR TFC INBOUND. SO WE CLBED OUT OF IT. CALLED FLT SVC. FOUND NEAREST VFR, CALLED DUPAGE TOLD THEM I WAS LEAVING THE AREA. THE SITUATION OCCURRED BECAUSE I DID NOT ALLOW ENOUGH TIME TO STAY OUT OF A CTL ZONE. SUGGESTIONS TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE IS TO HAVE A FASTER METHOD OF ATIS UPDATE.
