Narrative:

We were en route to abq from elp at FL250 our planned altitude was 350. We were given a clearance as follows '350 direct abq.' captain read back climb 350 go direct abq. Approaching FL310 center said we should be at FL290 we descended to 290 and told of we read back climb 350. On the ground the captain called abq and the supervisor said the controller should have used the words 'turn' and 'heading' there was no conflict.
