Narrative:

I had 3 aircraft inbound to mia (cpr X, 2 mlgs). I had vectored the cpr X and 1 medium large transport to a heading 270 to get them out of the way and the first air carrier Y went by. I later put the cpr X on a heading 340 and then 350, both level at 16000 ft, to put him intrail behind the air carrier Y. Neither vector worked. The cpr X overtook the first air carrier Y. I turned cpr X 360 degrees left and the final distance (closest) was 3.0 NM. The sector during this time was quite busy and there was also another aircraft attempting to talk to me on at least 6 occasions. He could not hear me and blocked the frequency at the most inopportune times.
