Narrative:

During push back at sat, maintenance called for brakes released. I released brakes and observed the handle click forward and the red light go out. Ft still on the rudder pedals but not applying brakes as normal. As we began moving first officer stated 'hey the red light is back on.' I was observing jetway and agent wave off. I immediately looked back and saw light and jiggled parking brake handle. At the same time I must have inadvertently applied some pressure to the brakes causing the aircraft to jerk, mechanic stopped aircraft, inspected and re-attached tow-bar. We communicated the situation and he said everything was ok and we could continue the push. In retrospect, I believe we should have had the mechanic make a logbook entry, but no parking brake abnormality be ascertained.

Narrative: DURING PUSH BACK AT SAT, MAINT CALLED FOR BRAKES RELEASED. I RELEASED BRAKES AND OBSERVED THE HANDLE CLICK FORWARD AND THE RED LIGHT GO OUT. FT STILL ON THE RUDDER PEDALS BUT NOT APPLYING BRAKES AS NORMAL. AS WE BEGAN MOVING FO STATED 'HEY THE RED LIGHT IS BACK ON.' I WAS OBSERVING JETWAY AND AGENT WAVE OFF. I IMMEDIATELY LOOKED BACK AND SAW LIGHT AND JIGGLED PARKING BRAKE HANDLE. AT THE SAME TIME I MUST HAVE INADVERTENTLY APPLIED SOME PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES CAUSING THE ACFT TO JERK, MECH STOPPED ACFT, INSPECTED AND RE-ATTACHED TOW-BAR. WE COMMUNICATED THE SITUATION AND HE SAID EVERYTHING WAS OK AND WE COULD CONTINUE THE PUSH. IN RETROSPECT, I BELIEVE WE SHOULD HAVE HAD THE MECH MAKE A LOGBOOK ENTRY, BUT NO PARKING BRAKE ABNORMALITY BE ASCERTAINED.
