Narrative:
The flight a mdt aircraft cruising at 12000 ft MSL on IFR flight plan in VFR conditions observed another aircraft (possibly a large transport) on a converging course and took evasive action to avoid wake turbulence. The other aircraft rptedly passed approximately 400 ft vertical and horizontal of reported aircraft. The reporter suspected that the other aircraft was intentionally 'buzzing' their aircraft.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: NMAC IN VFR CONDITIONS.
Narrative: THE FLT A MDT ACFT CRUISING AT 12000 FT MSL ON IFR FLT PLAN IN VFR CONDITIONS OBSERVED ANOTHER ACFT (POSSIBLY A LGT) ON A CONVERGING COURSE AND TOOK EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID WAKE TURB. THE OTHER ACFT RPTEDLY PASSED APPROX 400 FT VERT AND HORIZ OF RPTED ACFT. THE RPTR SUSPECTED THAT THE OTHER ACFT WAS INTENTIONALLY 'BUZZING' THEIR ACFT.
