Narrative:
Abq departure radar vectored into cell with high static electricity felt electrical charges on skin, radios locked on transmit. Advised abq of problem transmitting in blind - transmitted in blind to abq center also - turned box off - back on received garbled transmission from abq departure - turned transponder to standby then back on to acknowledge understanding. Copilot pulled communication box from rack - put spare in that was kept in plane. Normal communication was then made with abq center and during this episode all navigation was done as given in clearance.

Narrative: ABQ DEP RADAR VECTORED INTO CELL WITH HIGH STATIC ELECTRICITY FELT ELECTRICAL CHARGES ON SKIN, RADIOS LOCKED ON XMIT. ADVISED ABQ OF PROBLEM XMITTING IN BLIND - XMITTED IN BLIND TO ABQ CTR ALSO - TURNED BOX OFF - BACK ON RECEIVED GARBLED XMISSION FROM ABQ DEP - TURNED TRANSPONDER TO STANDBY THEN BACK ON TO ACKNOWLEDGE UNDERSTANDING. COPLT PULLED COM BOX FROM RACK - PUT SPARE IN THAT WAS KEPT IN PLANE. NORMAL COM WAS THEN MADE WITH ABQ CTR AND DURING THIS EPISODE ALL NAV WAS DONE AS GIVEN IN CLRNC.
