Narrative:
We were taxiing to runway 18L in clt. The aircraft ahead of us had taxied into position and hold. The captain came up to the hold short line and I wasn't sure if he saw the line. I said to him 'that's the line' and he stopped the aircraft past the hold line saying that he had not seen it initially. The runway was being used for takeoff only and there was no apparent conflict.
