Narrative:

Approximately 10 southeast of hnl advised approach control that the field was in sight. Controller cleared us for visual approach to runway 8L, and advised us to contact the tower at 7. DME we subsequently became distracted by selecting the ILS frequency for runway 8L, and configuring the aircraft for landing, additionally we were performing the before landing checklist. In performing these tasks we failed to contact the tower. We flew a normal approach and landed on runway 8L without a clearance. Contributing factors: 1. No other traffic inbound so as to improve frequency awareness. 2. No attempt by ATC to contact us (approach nor tower). 3. Seventh routine landing of the day (approximately 120-140 per month. 4. ATC might have handed us off to tower concurrent with the approach. Clearance, rather than at a future point during a busy approach.
