Narrative:
I was awaiting for takeoff clearance while holding short of runway 28L at cmh at the ILS critical holding area. The tower cleared me for an expedited departure due to a widebody transport on 3 mi final. I rushed onto the runway and attempted a rolling takeoff. Because of my rush to depart due to the widebody transport on short final, I made a rapid increase in power and induced an asymmetrical torque. I then reduced power on both engines to re-establish directional control. When I looked up from the engine gauges, I saw that I was lined up with the runway and advanced power to takeoff power and took off. After rotation I looked down at the flight director and saw a heading of 230 degrees. I had, in a rush, taken off on the wrong runway. My rush to depart, along with the distraction of the asymmetrical thrust and the pressure of the widebody transport on short final caused my inattn to the runway access route, and caused this problem. I should have turned down the takeoff clearance and waited for the widebody transport to land.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: PLT TOOK OFF FROM THE WRONG RWY AFTER LOSING CTL OF THE ACFT DURING AN EXPEDITED TAXI FOR TKOF.
Narrative: I WAS AWAITING FOR TKOF CLRNC WHILE HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 28L AT CMH AT THE ILS CRITICAL HOLDING AREA. THE TWR CLRED ME FOR AN EXPEDITED DEP DUE TO A WDB ON 3 MI FINAL. I RUSHED ONTO THE RWY AND ATTEMPTED A ROLLING TKOF. BECAUSE OF MY RUSH TO DEPART DUE TO THE WDB ON SHORT FINAL, I MADE A RAPID INCREASE IN PWR AND INDUCED AN ASYMMETRICAL TORQUE. I THEN REDUCED PWR ON BOTH ENGS TO RE-ESTABLISH DIRECTIONAL CTL. WHEN I LOOKED UP FROM THE ENG GAUGES, I SAW THAT I WAS LINED UP WITH THE RWY AND ADVANCED PWR TO TKOF PWR AND TOOK OFF. AFTER ROTATION I LOOKED DOWN AT THE FLT DIRECTOR AND SAW A HDG OF 230 DEGS. I HAD, IN A RUSH, TAKEN OFF ON THE WRONG RWY. MY RUSH TO DEPART, ALONG WITH THE DISTR OF THE ASYMMETRICAL THRUST AND THE PRESSURE OF THE WDB ON SHORT FINAL CAUSED MY INATTN TO THE RWY ACCESS RTE, AND CAUSED THIS PROBLEM. I SHOULD HAVE TURNED DOWN THE TKOF CLRNC AND WAITED FOR THE WDB TO LAND.
