Narrative:
Another airplane descended through our altitude, head on. Had other aircraft on TCASII as it went through our altitude, opposite direction, and incurred into our airspace, missing us (on our right) by 2 3/4 mi (on TCASII). Had other aircraft in sight at all times. Not sure why this occurred, but ATC controller seemed surprised by the turn of events. Supplemental information from acn 205201: center asked that we make a turn opposite of traffic, which we did at once.

Title: UNKNOWN ACFT DSNDED DOWN THROUGH ACR ACFT OCCUPIED ALT DURING HIGH ALT CRUISE CAUSING LTSS.
Narrative: ANOTHER AIRPLANE DSNDED THROUGH OUR ALT, HEAD ON. HAD OTHER ACFT ON TCASII AS IT WENT THROUGH OUR ALT, OPPOSITE DIRECTION, AND INCURRED INTO OUR AIRSPACE, MISSING US (ON OUR R) BY 2 3/4 MI (ON TCASII). HAD OTHER ACFT IN SIGHT AT ALL TIMES. NOT SURE WHY THIS OCCURRED, BUT ATC CTLR SEEMED SURPRISED BY THE TURN OF EVENTS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 205201: CTR ASKED THAT WE MAKE A TURN OPPOSITE OF TFC, WHICH WE DID AT ONCE.
