Narrative:
ACARS message told us to divert from dtw-sfo flight to msp because of mtc message indicating metal shavings on magnetic plug in the #2 engine accessory section. All engine instruments were normal as was landing break down in communication in maintenance department because crew was not notified.

Narrative: ACARS MESSAGE TOLD US TO DIVERT FROM DTW-SFO FLT TO MSP BECAUSE OF MTC MESSAGE INDICATING METAL SHAVINGS ON MAGNETIC PLUG IN THE #2 ENG ACCESSORY SECTION. ALL ENG INSTS WERE NORMAL AS WAS LNDG BREAK DOWN IN COM IN MAINT DEPT BECAUSE CREW WAS NOT NOTIFIED.
