Narrative:
Due to medical emergency flight ord/dtw 3/92, was taxiing back to the gate on 14L. WX conditions were low ceiling and visibility. Runway RVR 4000-6000. As we taxied down 14L we were instructed to turn right on 27R and hold short of the 32 parallel. Runway conditions were 14L covered with snow/slush, it had been plowed 1 1/2 hours prior, but it had been snowing the entire time. 27R was covered with snow and had not been plowed. Due to the visual references that I saw I started a turn thinking I was turning onto 27R. What I actually saw was the north side runway lights of 27R and the 14L runway lights aligning with the lights of 27R. The error was realized but not in time to stop the aircraft. The nose wheel exited the west side of 14L approximately 1 ft. The aircraft was shut down and assistance called. No damaged to aircraft or personnel. Once again due to poor and non standard runway/taxiway marking with poor visibility we have another incident.
