Narrative:
Airport surface snow covered, braking action reported poor on taxiways; and runway 08R treated, plowed, and braking action reported fair. Taxi to, and into takeoff position on 8R normal. Captain applied takeoff thrust. Engine spool-up normal and equal. At brake release aircraft started a slide to the right side of runway 8R, never leaving the runway surface. Thrust cut, and nose wheel steering used to taxi aircraft clear of runway and return to gate without incident. Braking action in takeoff zone nil. FAA air carrier manager, checked aircraft track and found right engine passed over top a runway light -- no damage to light, or aircraft. Maintenance also checked and released aircraft -- no damage. Aircraft and flight released grr-alb/alb-phl.

Title: ACR UNABLE CTL ACFT DIRECTION ON TKOF ON SNOW COVERED RWY. TAXI OFF AT TAXIWAY, RETURN TO GATE.
Narrative: ARPT SURFACE SNOW COVERED, BRAKING ACTION RPTED POOR ON TAXIWAYS; AND RWY 08R TREATED, PLOWED, AND BRAKING ACTION RPTED FAIR. TAXI TO, AND INTO TKOF POS ON 8R NORMAL. CAPT APPLIED TKOF THRUST. ENG SPOOL-UP NORMAL AND EQUAL. AT BRAKE RELEASE ACFT STARTED A SLIDE TO THE R SIDE OF RWY 8R, NEVER LEAVING THE RWY SURFACE. FAA AIR CARRIER MGR, CHKED ACFT TRACK AND FOUND R ENG PASSED OVER TOP A RWY LIGHT -- NO DAMAGE TO LIGHT, OR ACFT. MAINT ALSO CHKED AND RELEASED ACFT -- NO DAMAGE. ACFT AND FLT RELEASED GRR-ALB/ALB-PHL.
