Narrative:
The right emergency xfeed valve fuel circuit breaker popped in flight. We called sfo commercial radio for a phone patch to our company in order that we might inform maintenance of this problem so they would be prepared to fix it upon arrival in hnl. This was done. Shortly thereafter ATC wanted to know if we were declaring an emergency and could we maintain our altitudes and ETA's in the track. At no time did we indicate we had a problem. There are 3 fuel xfeed valves and any 2 will do the job. I have no idea how this phone patch to our company came into ATC hands or how it was misinterpreted.
