Narrative:
We had all engines started, next for takeoff on 26L atl. Tower said we had an 8 min delay for release to ord, so taxi down 26L to the first right turn, taxi up to and hold short 26R. The captain concentrated on saving fuel and shut down engine 3 as we taxied across 26L, possibly 'grounding' (copying) an medium large transport we watched do the same thing the day before. The so and myself knew we were to go down 26L, not across, but anticipated the usual wide turn onto it. When the aircraft moved the additional 20 ft or so to go straight instead of turning, we were committed with the nosewheel and had to continue straight. Tower was busy instructing other aircraft including 2 others to land on 26R. Tower eventually acknowledged our situation and stopped us in position until 26R traffic had all landed. We had only proceeded to start and turn west on the taxiway, and never encroached on any runways. Contributing -- this was the last day of a 4 day trip -- somewhat tired -- all distracted during initial taxi shutting down 1 engine. -- Possible 'grounding' by the captain on the taxi route an medium large transport we watched the day before who did go the way we went today.

Title: FLC PLTDEV NON ADHERENCE TO ATC CLRNC INSTRUCTION.
Narrative: WE HAD ALL ENGS STARTED, NEXT FOR TKOF ON 26L ATL. TWR SAID WE HAD AN 8 MIN DELAY FOR RELEASE TO ORD, SO TAXI DOWN 26L TO THE FIRST R TURN, TAXI UP TO AND HOLD SHORT 26R. THE CAPT CONCENTRATED ON SAVING FUEL AND SHUT DOWN ENG 3 AS WE TAXIED ACROSS 26L, POSSIBLY 'GNDING' (COPYING) AN MLG WE WATCHED DO THE SAME THING THE DAY BEFORE. THE SO AND MYSELF KNEW WE WERE TO GO DOWN 26L, NOT ACROSS, BUT ANTICIPATED THE USUAL WIDE TURN ONTO IT. WHEN THE ACFT MOVED THE ADDITIONAL 20 FT OR SO TO GO STRAIGHT INSTEAD OF TURNING, WE WERE COMMITTED WITH THE NOSEWHEEL AND HAD TO CONTINUE STRAIGHT. TWR WAS BUSY INSTRUCTING OTHER ACFT INCLUDING 2 OTHERS TO LAND ON 26R. TWR EVENTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGED OUR SITUATION AND STOPPED US IN POS UNTIL 26R TFC HAD ALL LANDED. WE HAD ONLY PROCEEDED TO START AND TURN W ON THE TAXIWAY, AND NEVER ENCROACHED ON ANY RWYS. CONTRIBUTING -- THIS WAS THE LAST DAY OF A 4 DAY TRIP -- SOMEWHAT TIRED -- ALL DISTRACTED DURING INITIAL TAXI SHUTTING DOWN 1 ENG. -- POSSIBLE 'GNDING' BY THE CAPT ON THE TAXI RTE AN MLG WE WATCHED THE DAY BEFORE WHO DID GO THE WAY WE WENT TODAY.
