Narrative:
Approach cleared us for a visual to 18R at mco to maintain 2500 ft until past the VOR. After crossing the VOR at 2500 ft, a descent produced a TCASII RA: 'climb! Climb!' a visual was never established. TCASII separation showed 500 ft then 300 ft then after we climbed approximately 200 ft 'clear of conflict.' my opinion is that a fast climbing aircraft departing orlando executive could have triggered this TCASII event.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: MLG FLC RECEIVES TCASII RA AS DSNDS FOR VISUAL APCH. EVASIVE ACTION.
Narrative: APCH CLRED US FOR A VISUAL TO 18R AT MCO TO MAINTAIN 2500 FT UNTIL PAST THE VOR. AFTER XING THE VOR AT 2500 FT, A DSCNT PRODUCED A TCASII RA: 'CLB! CLB!' A VISUAL WAS NEVER ESTABLISHED. TCASII SEPARATION SHOWED 500 FT THEN 300 FT THEN AFTER WE CLBED APPROX 200 FT 'CLR OF CONFLICT.' MY OPINION IS THAT A FAST CLBING ACFT DEPARTING ORLANDO EXECUTIVE COULD HAVE TRIGGERED THIS TCASII EVENT.
