Narrative:
Reported right downwind runway 1 teb. Cleared to land by tower. Started base. Heard tower advise an medium large transport that he was #2 for the airport. Tower instructed medium large transport to slow down. (He was on left base for runway 1.) I advised tower that I was close in and could make approach. I had the medium large transport in sight. Tower instructed me to make a right 360. I advised tower that this instruction would take me right into the path of the medium large transport. I asked if the medium large transport had me in sight (no response by medium large transport or tower). I asked to make a left turn to avoid the traffic. Tower again instructed I make a 360 degree to the right. The right turn put the medium large transport in a blind spot (below my left wing). Dropped left wing to check on medium large transport. Aircraft converging. Made steep diving turn to avoid collision.

Title: SMA ON R BASE APCH HAS NMAC WITH MLG ON L BASE, WHEN COMPLYING WITH TWR INSTRUCTIONS.
Narrative: RPTED R DOWNWIND RWY 1 TEB. CLRED TO LAND BY TWR. STARTED BASE. HEARD TWR ADVISE AN MLG THAT HE WAS #2 FOR THE ARPT. TWR INSTRUCTED MLG TO SLOW DOWN. (HE WAS ON L BASE FOR RWY 1.) I ADVISED TWR THAT I WAS CLOSE IN AND COULD MAKE APCH. I HAD THE MLG IN SIGHT. TWR INSTRUCTED ME TO MAKE A R 360. I ADVISED TWR THAT THIS INSTRUCTION WOULD TAKE ME RIGHT INTO THE PATH OF THE MLG. I ASKED IF THE MLG HAD ME IN SIGHT (NO RESPONSE BY MLG OR TWR). I ASKED TO MAKE A L TURN TO AVOID THE TFC. TWR AGAIN INSTRUCTED I MAKE A 360 DEG TO THE R. THE R TURN PUT THE MLG IN A BLIND SPOT (BELOW MY L WING). DROPPED L WING TO CHK ON MLG. ACFT CONVERGING. MADE STEEP DIVING TURN TO AVOID COLLISION.
