Narrative:
While being handled by ATC for arrival into tlh, the controller cleared us for a visual approach to runway 27 -- we informed him that we didnþt have the airport in sight. He then gave us a heading for the localizer and we were in very close to the airport (by now we were visual with the airport). After being cleared for a visual we told him we needed to widen to the left and then turn back in for altitude loss. We tried to express this to him twice before he answered us. We proceeded to land runway 27 with no problems.
