Narrative:

There was fog around the airport environment so conditions made taxiing difficult. Ground control told us to taxi to runway 17. Instead we left the gate and taxied to runway 24 via golf, charlie, and bravo. While taxiing to 24 we visually cleared both ends of runway 17-35 before crossing. After crossing, ground alerted us that we were taxiing to 24 instead of 17. Contributing factors: fog reduced visibility. Runway signs are misleading since they are old signs that are marked 10 degree off, (as the captain) I was following my first officer's taxi instructions since he was more experienced with the airport (it was my second time being in ilm).
