Narrative:
Level at 240 on kayoh arrival. Noticed radio was quiet, so asked for radio check. Center replied 'loud and clear.' approaching kayoh, asked for lower altitude, no reply. Became apparent we were lost on the frequency. Took several mins to re-establish contact. Had to take vectors off arrival to descend. No conflicts or other problems. Numerous NOTAMS for unauthorized radio xmissions in lax area. We wondered if we had been a victim.
