Narrative:
Operating on a local pleasure flight from airlake airport (Y12) to rst in a 19XY small aircraft amphibian. Cleared by rst tower for a touch and go on runway 20, gear was lowered with normal indication with normal pressure. Upon touchdown a pop was heard and the aircraft settled on its belly. Realizing that the gear had collapsed, I attempted to steer the aircraft clear of the runway into the grass. The aircraft came to rest half on grass, half on runway. No damage done except to pride. Rescue arrived in 2 mins. They raised the aircraft with lifting pads, the gear was placed down with the over center locks secured. Aircraft was taxied to the FBO for examination. Upon examination the clevis head on the hydraulic ram actuator had broken allowing the gear to collapse. The gear was secured by the FBO a&P and a ferry permit was issued to return to airlake airport (Y12). Return trip normal. Only question would be was the other pilot returning with me permitted on a ferry permit?

Title: SMA AMPHIBIAN'S GEAR COLLAPSES ON RWY DURING LNDG. RWY EXCURSION DURING ATTEMPT TO STEER ACFT OFF RWY.
Narrative: OPERATING ON A LCL PLEASURE FLT FROM AIRLAKE ARPT (Y12) TO RST IN A 19XY SMA AMPHIBIAN. CLRED BY RST TWR FOR A TOUCH AND GO ON RWY 20, GEAR WAS LOWERED WITH NORMAL INDICATION WITH NORMAL PRESSURE. UPON TOUCHDOWN A POP WAS HEARD AND THE ACFT SETTLED ON ITS BELLY. REALIZING THAT THE GEAR HAD COLLAPSED, I ATTEMPTED TO STEER THE ACFT CLR OF THE RWY INTO THE GRASS. THE ACFT CAME TO REST HALF ON GRASS, HALF ON RWY. NO DAMAGE DONE EXCEPT TO PRIDE. RESCUE ARRIVED IN 2 MINS. THEY RAISED THE ACFT WITH LIFTING PADS, THE GEAR WAS PLACED DOWN WITH THE OVER CTR LOCKS SECURED. ACFT WAS TAXIED TO THE FBO FOR EXAMINATION. UPON EXAMINATION THE CLEVIS HEAD ON THE HYD RAM ACTUATOR HAD BROKEN ALLOWING THE GEAR TO COLLAPSE. THE GEAR WAS SECURED BY THE FBO A&P AND A FERRY PERMIT WAS ISSUED TO RETURN TO AIRLAKE ARPT (Y12). RETURN TRIP NORMAL. ONLY QUESTION WOULD BE WAS THE OTHER PLT RETURNING WITH ME PERMITTED ON A FERRY PERMIT?
