Narrative:

En route las-vny at 10000 at night. ZLA (132.5) issued a handoff to joshua approach (formerly edwards). Frequency given was 124.55, but usual frequency around george air force base is 133.15. We had to 'squelch' radios to hear joshua. They could hear us, but we could not hear them. I commented on this and they responded that they were combined up so it made no difference to him which frequency I was on. In the past, joshua/edwards would switch us halfway between vcv and palmdale. I learned from edwards that it is a new ZLA policy to give 124.55 and not 133.15 since george air force base is closing in june of 1992, but this is not okay with us as we cannot hear joshua.
