Narrative:
We were starting a long haul international flight back to home base. Due to the nature and length of this flight a double crew was assigned and crew rest area available on the aircraft. My position was that of one of the captain's assigned (we carried 2 capts, 2 first officer's for this flight). I was also 'trip captain,' i.e., I was in charge of deciding routing, arranging overflt, landing permits, handling, etc for the flight and thus, my name appeared on all correspondence, flight plans, etc, from base operation. On the leg of the taxi incident, I was in the crew rest area and another crew was in command of the aircraft. Briefly, after we had closed our door prior to departure, another aircraft was marshalled to park behind us in a tail to tail position. After receiving engine start clearance from ground control, the crew at the controls started engines and taxied out for departure. On our arrival back in the USA, at home base, we were advised that the operator of the other aircraft had filed an incident/accident report with the airport reference 'jet blast damage' to his rudder. Our crew was not aware of any problem and was not aware that a 'light' aircraft had been parked behind them prior to their engine start. My reason for reporting this is that my name is shown on the flight plan as PIC, although I was not on duty in the cockpit for that leg. I am also named in the other operator's incident report. I'm a little unsure of the interpretation of my position in the crew structure reference an incident.

Title: ACFT DAMAGED DURING RAMP OP RAMP DEP PROC, JET BLAST ENCOUNTER.
Narrative: WE WERE STARTING A LONG HAUL INTL FLT BACK TO HOME BASE. DUE TO THE NATURE AND LENGTH OF THIS FLT A DOUBLE CREW WAS ASSIGNED AND CREW REST AREA AVAILABLE ON THE ACFT. MY POS WAS THAT OF ONE OF THE CAPT'S ASSIGNED (WE CARRIED 2 CAPTS, 2 FO'S FOR THIS FLT). I WAS ALSO 'TRIP CAPT,' I.E., I WAS IN CHARGE OF DECIDING ROUTING, ARRANGING OVERFLT, LNDG PERMITS, HANDLING, ETC FOR THE FLT AND THUS, MY NAME APPEARED ON ALL CORRESPONDENCE, FLT PLANS, ETC, FROM BASE OP. ON THE LEG OF THE TAXI INCIDENT, I WAS IN THE CREW REST AREA AND ANOTHER CREW WAS IN COMMAND OF THE ACFT. BRIEFLY, AFTER WE HAD CLOSED OUR DOOR PRIOR TO DEP, ANOTHER ACFT WAS MARSHALLED TO PARK BEHIND US IN A TAIL TO TAIL POS. AFTER RECEIVING ENG START CLRNC FROM GND CTL, THE CREW AT THE CTLS STARTED ENGS AND TAXIED OUT FOR DEP. ON OUR ARR BACK IN THE USA, AT HOME BASE, WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE OPERATOR OF THE OTHER ACFT HAD FILED AN INCIDENT/ACCIDENT RPT WITH THE ARPT REF 'JET BLAST DAMAGE' TO HIS RUDDER. OUR CREW WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY PROBLEM AND WAS NOT AWARE THAT A 'LIGHT' ACFT HAD BEEN PARKED BEHIND THEM PRIOR TO THEIR ENG START. MY REASON FOR RPTING THIS IS THAT MY NAME IS SHOWN ON THE FLT PLAN AS PIC, ALTHOUGH I WAS NOT ON DUTY IN THE COCKPIT FOR THAT LEG. I AM ALSO NAMED IN THE OTHER OPERATOR'S INCIDENT RPT. I'M A LITTLE UNSURE OF THE INTERP OF MY POS IN THE CREW STRUCTURE REF AN INCIDENT.
