Narrative:
My concerns are the lack of a reliable communication between the tower and all aircraft approaching meigs airport (chicago) from the north. Because of the tall city buildings it is virtually impossible to communication effectively (without breaking squelch). Many times there are calls missed because the tall buildings prevent reliable communications. Because of the numerous aircraft in the vicinity of airport each call missed could be very hazardous. My suggestion is to place a remote antenna on top of one of the tall buildings. Without this antenna, that would enhance communications, it is sometimes impossible to talk with the tower when just west of the city. This idea has been suggested to the town.
