Narrative:
Inbound to ewr on yardley 2 arrival southwest of somto intersection at 13000 ft, working ZDC. Advised by center of an light transport level 14000 ft same direction passing overhead. Advised traffic in sight. Shortly thereafter we were told to descend and maintain 11000 ft. We complied. At this point we were told of additional traffic at 10 O'clock and approximately 4 mi climbing to 10000 ft. We advised traffic in sight. At this point we received TCASII RA 'climb, climb, climb' and complied with TCASII RA. First officer so advised ZDC. We climbed from 11000 to 11300 ft. TCASII then advised 'clear of conflict' and we promptly returned to 11000 ft. At this point center took us off the arrival and told us to fly a 090 degree heading. We complied. As we rolled out on assigned heading we were given a new heading to rejoin the arrival and at this point were handed off to new york center who told us ZDC wanted us to call. We complied and called upon arrival at ewr. Spoke with mr X the area watch supervisor and was told that our responding to our TCASII RA caused a loss of vertical separation and had set off their 'snitch machine' and that he would have to file a report. Notified company of phone call and contact alpa rep the following day.
