Narrative:

On departure climb from jan, at 500 ft AGL, we had a power loss of the right engine. It would not respond to any power lever movement. The engine shut down so we secured the engine as per the emergency checklist. By this time, we had also declared an emergency. The fire trucks and emergency personnel were called out as a precaution. There was no evidence of fire. Returned to jan with an uneventful landing. Upon clearing the runway we stopped the aircraft, at which time the emergency personnel inspected the right engine to confirm no fire existed. We returned to the gate and deplaned the passenger.
