Narrative:
On descent into the hibbing airport while on flight from msp to hib, the #1 engine failed. With crew coordination and appropriate checklist, engine was secured. Aircraft diverted to dlh. The captain and myself felt dlh was more suited to handle any problems that might arise. Emergency was declared per company gom and FARS. Aircraft landed without incident.

Narrative: ON DSCNT INTO THE HIBBING ARPT WHILE ON FLT FROM MSP TO HIB, THE #1 ENG FAILED. WITH CREW COORD AND APPROPRIATE CHKLIST, ENG WAS SECURED. ACFT DIVERTED TO DLH. THE CAPT AND MYSELF FELT DLH WAS MORE SUITED TO HANDLE ANY PROBLEMS THAT MIGHT ARISE. EMER WAS DECLARED PER COMPANY GOM AND FARS. ACFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
