Narrative:
While waiting for clearance at rhi, I was told it would be a 5 min wait due to an airliner turboprop coming in. Then the airliner cancelled IFR and asked which runway was in use at rhi. Center didn't know. 2 other acrs had departed 9 and the wind was from the northeast at 10 KTS. GA traffic was using 33. I was holding short of 33. I looked around for the airliner and didn't see him. I thought he would be landing 9 as everyone else did. I called for takeoff on 33 and started the roll. Just as I started the roll, I heard air carrier call final for runway 27. It was too late for me to do an abort, so I continued the roll. The air carrier went around. I heard him call the go around. Then I switched to center frequency and made my check in. Then I heard air carrier call center and ask for my full tail number and say 'they would never cancel IFR for one of those guys again.' it was both our faults as I should see and avoid. It was his fault also because he landed downwind and didn't see me either. Rhi could use a tower. That might have prevented the problem.

Title: SMA PLT DEPARTS UNCTLED FIELD AND HAS NMAC WITH ACR LNDG ON INTERSECTING RWY. ACR MAKES GAR.
Narrative: WHILE WAITING FOR CLRNC AT RHI, I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE A 5 MIN WAIT DUE TO AN AIRLINER TURBOPROP COMING IN. THEN THE AIRLINER CANCELLED IFR AND ASKED WHICH RWY WAS IN USE AT RHI. CTR DIDN'T KNOW. 2 OTHER ACRS HAD DEPARTED 9 AND THE WIND WAS FROM THE NE AT 10 KTS. GA TFC WAS USING 33. I WAS HOLDING SHORT OF 33. I LOOKED AROUND FOR THE AIRLINER AND DIDN'T SEE HIM. I THOUGHT HE WOULD BE LNDG 9 AS EVERYONE ELSE DID. I CALLED FOR TKOF ON 33 AND STARTED THE ROLL. JUST AS I STARTED THE ROLL, I HEARD ACR CALL FINAL FOR RWY 27. IT WAS TOO LATE FOR ME TO DO AN ABORT, SO I CONTINUED THE ROLL. THE ACR WENT AROUND. I HEARD HIM CALL THE GAR. THEN I SWITCHED TO CTR FREQ AND MADE MY CHK IN. THEN I HEARD ACR CALL CTR AND ASK FOR MY FULL TAIL NUMBER AND SAY 'THEY WOULD NEVER CANCEL IFR FOR ONE OF THOSE GUYS AGAIN.' IT WAS BOTH OUR FAULTS AS I SHOULD SEE AND AVOID. IT WAS HIS FAULT ALSO BECAUSE HE LANDED DOWNWIND AND DIDN'T SEE ME EITHER. RHI COULD USE A TWR. THAT MIGHT HAVE PREVENTED THE PROBLEM.
