Narrative:
While ferrying our aircraft from phl to N44 (robert J miller airpark in toms river, nj) at 5000 ft, we attempted to copy the AWOS-3 at N44 on 119.87 MHZ, only to hear a garble of crosstalk on that frequency. The flight took only 14 min, and it took me 5 of them just to copy the AWOS. We then flew from N44 to dca. Trying to discover the problem with the AWOS on that leg, as we proceeded toward sie VORTAC, we began to understand the problem when we heard 'cape may county airport' on the same frequency. Why would 2 airports within 62 NM of each other, (I measured it!), both with AWOS, be assigned the same frequency of 119.87? On our return flight from dca to N44 we had the same problem: we could not copy the AWOS-3 at N44 until we were almost on top of it due to crosstalk from the AWOS at wwd, which we flew near on our return. Please have one of those frequencys changed! Thanks!

Title: 2 ARPTS WITHIN 62 MI OF EACH OTHER HAVE SAME AWOS FREQ WITH OVERLAP INTERFERENCE. NEITHER UNDERSTANDABLE.
