Narrative:
Prior to pushback at rdu airport the exterior and interior duties were completed and the door lights checked on the annunciator panel. Upon departing rdu, shortly after rotation and during climb out a loud air leak noise was emanating from below the floor boards, and the aircraft would not pressurize. Both air conditioning systems were on and the door lights on the annunciator panel were checked again and found to indicate all doors were closed. Manual pressurization was tried with no better results. I elected to return to rdu and have the problem investigated. The east and east compartment door was found open. The cannon plug to the switch on the east and east compartment door was also found to be disconnected. It is unknown at what time the east and east door came open after the exterior preflight or how the cannon plug became disconnected. The annunciator test for door lights checks only the bulb and not the continuity of the system.

THE CANNON PLUG TO THE SWITCH ON THE E AND E COMPARTMENT DOOR WAS ALSO FOUND TO BE DISCONNECTED. IT IS UNKNOWN AT WHAT TIME THE E AND E DOOR CAME OPEN AFTER THE EXTERIOR PREFLT OR HOW THE CANNON PLUG BECAME DISCONNECTED. THE ANNUNCIATOR TEST FOR DOOR LIGHTS CHKS ONLY THE BULB AND NOT THE CONTINUITY OF THE SYS.
